We were appointed to Western Power Distribution’s Substation Civils Framework in 2012, and in that time, have successfully delivered over 100 schemes.

The overall scope of works contained within this framework includes:
– new 33 kV substations
– 33kV Transformer Changes
– 132kV, 66 kV and 33kV switchgear changes

In addition to the above overall scope of works, we have, using our directly employed, specially trained workforce, undertaken all aspects of new switch building and refurbishment. This includes access roads, kerbing, foundations, ground re-profiling and hard & soft landscaping.

Our specially trained workforce are disciplined in all areas of working within live substation environments, holding all necessary qualifications, and are fully experienced in

working in close proximity to overhead cables and equipment.

Recently, our ECI with WPD’s Project Managers resulted in the decision to install pitched roofs, in favour of flat. This decision was reached after we commented over time, flat roofs tend to leak within the switch buildings. Our intervention has reduced the whole life cost for WPD and, where appropriate, pitched roofs have been rolled out as the standard design solution.
