We were appointed by Northern Powergrid to undertake flood protection works to the boundary of their critical strategic control facility on Gelderd Road, Leeds.

We installed a sheet piled wall running the complete length of the building, acting as a flood barrier.  These works were undertaken in  carefully controlled phases, enabling all power cables serving the facility to remain unaffected by the piling works.

The newly formed wall was dresses with brick and cast concrete capping, whilst retaining its flood protection purposes.

A reinforced steel flood gate was fitted across the main access, completing the watertight seal around the perimeter of the facility.

An emergency stepped gantry access and egress route was installed to ensure safe pedestrian routes over the flood wall.

We installed a storm water pumping station with wet well within the compound to control surface water flooding. A new parking facility completed this scheme.

All works were undertaken by our directly employed workforce in a safe, efficient manner and to a high quality standard within a safety critical environment.
