Whitehouse were appointed by Devon County Council, funded by FDGIA (Flood Defence Grant in Aid), to fit ten properties with Property Level Flood Resilience measures following a number of recent flooding events.

Initial surveys were undertaken by our PAYE directly employed, highly trained, specialist Flood Mitigation Surveyors, with bespoke measures recommend for each property. Our Flood Mitigation team, led by a fully qualified Lead Flood Technician, have supplied and installed a number of measures such as Flood Doors, Flood Gates, Flood Boards, NRV’s and Waterproofing Sealant.

All products supplied are Kitemarked with our Flood Doors Kitemarked to PAS 1188:2014.

This scheme required significant homeowner contact as the timeframe for works to be complete was extremely tight, including survey, supply and installation. Initial contact was made through a range of mediums; from telephone calls, emails and letter drops to most efficiently contact the homeowners.

Bespoke flood protection measures were manufactured for each property within four weeks in order to achieve the delivery programme.

Our ECI resulted in the recommendation of Flood Doors for those homeowners less able to operate cumbersome heavy measures which require complex deployment, ensuring homeowner satisfaction and confidence in the measures provided.

This scheme was completed on time and within the grant budget to the complete satisfaction of the client and all the homeowners involved.
