Whitehouse were awarded this contract to supply and install Property Level Flood Resilience products to 17 houses in the Tewkesbury area following the provision of funding from DEFRA.

Tewkesbury has suffered from severe flooding for years, and is likely to in the future therefore a long-term, effective solution was required.

Measurement surveys were undertaken by our Lead Mitigation Surveyor, who worked closely with members of Tewkesbury Council throughout the duration of the scheme.

Our experience on schemes of this nature resulted in the decision to provide Flood Doors, rather than Flood Boards as originally requested.

This decision was reached after Flood Fairs were held pre-installation; many residents were elderly therefore unable to deploy Flood Boards in a timely manner in the event of a flood.

This decision reduced the whole life cost for the Council, increased security and thermal efficiency for the homeowner, and ensured flood protection at all times.

Other products installed included automatic airbricks, non-return valves, waterproofing sealant and sump and pumps, all Kitemarked to PAS standards.

Post-installation, thorough training of the measures was undertaken by our Flood Mitigation Teams alongside maintenance instructions, ensuring all measures would be deployable in the event of a flood.

This project was completed on time and within the grant allocated budget per property, despite the betterment of the Mitigation solution.
