Toton 11/33 KvH Substation was constructed in the 1950s and had reached the end of its serviceable life. As part of an Atkins Power improvement programme, Whitehouse refurbished the plant and as a result it continues to provide an electrical feed to local conurbations.

In order to resolve access issues to the rural site of the existing cement works, Lafarge installed a rail terminal which effectively reduced the number of vehicles using the roads in the surrounding areas; most of which were unfit for use by Lorries.

Following a bridge collapse during a significant river-flooding event at the Cadbury production facility, Whitehouse conducted emergency clean-up operations to prevent further flooding. Cadburys then reinvested in the installation of flood protection measures across the site to ensure 24 hour operations continued at all times.
